2010-2011 CIYS Organization Schedule available
Thanks, WEEKTV for your support of the Arts
Postcard from Home: Central Illinois Youth Symphony

With all the talk of budget cuts in our schools
many people think we should cut out music and arts. Bob Jacobs shows
us an organization in Peoria that proves exactly why we should not
do so. Bob says this is a classical Postcard
from Home.
Add the Central Illinois Youth Symphony Toolbar to
IE or Firefox

Once you add the Central Illinois Youth Symphony
toolbar for Internet Explorer or Firefox (currently not available
for Safari), each time you shop at one of the more than 1,300 participating
stores, a percentage of what you spend will be donated to us at
no extra cost to you! (you could even save money as the toolbar
provides coupons and deals).
The toolbar also has a search box and each time you search the Internet,
about a penny is donated to us.
No registration is required!

What if CIYS earned a penny
every time you searched the Internet?
How about if a percentage of every purchase
you made online went to support our cause?
Well, now it can!
GoodSearch.com is a new Yahoo-powered search
engine that donates half its advertising revenue, about a penny
per search, to the charities its users designate. Use it just as
you would any search engine, get quality search results from Yahoo,
and watch the donations add up!
GoodShop.com is a new online shopping mall
which donates up to 37 percent of each purchase to your favorite
cause! Hundreds of great stores including Amazon, Target, Gap, Best
Buy, ebay, Macy's and Barnes & Noble (and many more) have teamed
up with GoodShop and every time you place an order, you'll be supporting
your favorite cause.
Just go to www.goodsearch.com
and be sure to enter Central Illinois Youth Symphony as the charity
you want to support or use the links at the bottom of our HOME
page.
And, be sure to spread the word!

GUIDELINES
WHILE AT REHEARSAL LOCATIONS
(First Mennonite Church and Bethel Lutheran Church, and occasionally Advent
Lutheran Church)
Everyone please remember that we are guests. We need to stay in the designated
areas and treat these facilities and others in the church with respect.
No food or drink is allowed - only water. Your assistance in this is very
important so that we can continue to use these facilities.
ELECTRONIC
NEWSLETTER CONTACT LIST
In an effort to cut down on various administrative costs,
and to better communicate with all members of the CIYS organization and
their parents, we are implementing an electronic mailing list. By simply
sending an e-mail to info@ciys.org
you will be added to the electronic mailing list for all future schedules,
newsletters, and important announcements as they become available. If
you do not have e-mail, or simply wish to continue receiving hard copies
of all mailings and announcements, you do not need to e-mail us. Only
those who send an e-mail request to be added to the electronic mailing
list will be included in this new service to our members. If you have
any questions, please contact the symphony manager - Renee Chernick -
at the symphony phone number (Morton - 309-266-7625 or Toll Free 888-218-4650).
DON'T
FORGET...If you have any online shopping to do, access Amazon.com
or Sheet Music Plus from our Web site affiliate
links and the CIYS organization will receive a portion of the sale!
CIYS

If you have any questions or concerns outside of rehearsal, you can reach
CIYS Manager by calling the Youth Symphony phone line at 1-888-218-4650.

Stand
Reminder: Everyone
must bring a stand to all rehearsals.

The CIYS Bulletin Board is where you'll find news on upcoming
events, cancellation, and items of interest that happen between newsletters.
It is always best to check the CIYS toll free number at 1-888-218-4650
regarding cancellation due to late breaking weather conditions. If you
have any information you'd like to suggest for the Bulletin Board, contact
the Webmaster
and fill her in. Book mark this page and refer to it often.
